Friends, A Good Rain and a Fire
This weekend our friends the Littles visited our farm. We set up irrigation for our trees, set up a deer feeder, lit the 50ft wide burn pile, and other things like that. We had many adventures in the daytime and at night we would all sit in the living room and talk about the day's fun. One night me, both of my sisters, and our friends were all sitting in the living room playing a game while our parents were sitting outside. All of the sudden out of the window we heard thunder and saw the whole sky turn purple with a white crack in it! That moment startled me and I screamed and fell back. Seconds after that we heard the pattering of water on the roof and our parents rushed in out of the rain. In the end it turned out very good, our pond collected a little bit of water and all of our trees got watered. Because of the storm the ground around the burn pile was soaked with water, which made it safe to light the pile of dead and dry trees. When the flames reached the rotting wood of the pines and the old hay bales they lit on fire and collapsed to the ground in a pile of ash. It was amazing and the biggest flame I've ever seen. We had a lot of fun playing with these friends and I am very excited for when they come again.
